“Creating Comprehensive reports of Animals Studies”

Presented by Dr. Annette O’Connor1  and Dr. Jan Sargeant2

  1. College of Veterinary Medicine, Iowa State University, 2. Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph

Do you wonder how much detail on the various aspects of your study should be provided into your manuscripts?

Do you find it challenging to structure your manuscripts to write efficiently?

Do you get comments from reviewers (or your major professor) to add details or remove details and not know whether you should do so?

Does it take you forever to peer-review manuscripts?

Do your students provide incomplete drafts that are missing important information?

If any of these sound familiar, attend our workshop on reporting guidelines and speed up writing and reviewing !

In this workshop we will present the discipline expectations of reporting of observational studies, randomized controlled trials and experimental studies that involve animals. These reporting guidelines are REFLECT statement (published in 2010), the ARRIVE-statement (published in 2010) and the STROBE-Vet statement (published in Dec 2016).  The workshop will be incredibly useful for researchers and students looking for time efficient approaches to preparing comprehensive and transparent reports for submission to journals that comply with discipline expectations.

Date:  Dec 4th 8:30 am to 12:00 pm

Location: Chicago Ballroom E/F/G/H, 5th Floor – @ CRWAD conference
